I will be at NAMM and will be displaying the wonderful Style Works 2000 as well as the new Style Factory which Klaus assures me will be ready for the show. Klaus will also be at the booth to answer any questions on any of his superb software including the new Style Factory. We will be in booth 6993 in Hall A.

News about the Midjay
It's here! It's here! It's here! Yea!!!

OK you may get the idea I am excited. And you would be 100% right.
This is a new musical instrument.
What this is not is an upgrade to a X4 or to a MS40 or XD3. This is using brand new principles to get things happening and once again Ketron is years ahead of the pack.
There are hundreds of features here that will take months to explore. Was it worth the wait? Oh yeah! It is the Cadillac of modules. It is not yet in my opinion the Rolls-Royce, but pretty darn close. And there may be features as yet undiscovered that will put it in that elite catagory as best of the best.
It will take much longer to learn this instrument that all the others. Why? Because you can't help but stopping and playing with it. It is just too cool! With hundreds of high quality sound effects you find yourself playing with all the cool sounds instead of studying. At least I did. How many times do you have to make that rooster crow or the cannon go off. Too many to count, that's how many.

Like many other Ketron devices, you don't get the full impact right away. The more you play the more you love. There are new procedures to be solved and new balances to be done and new MP3s to load and more and more.

I can only say that this will be the instrument that I will be writing about for quite a while. I don't expect to sleep much for a few weeks either.

Upgrades available: For all the whiners out there (not many) who have been so bitterly complaining that the X series has been made "obsolete", Ketron has just released a free upgrade for the operating system to 5.0 for the X series, including the X4, X1, X8 and X1 Oriental (arabic). I personally hope this reinforces the fact that discontinued does not mean obsolete. These downloads are available on this site on the "Manuals and Upgrades" page under the Downloads button (http://www.ketronus.com/downloads/) or at http://www.ketron.it which is the Home site for Ketron labs.
Also the 4.0c has been released for the SD1 and SD1+.
