Today is my four year anniversary of my 100% recovery from GBS. Lying in the hospital bed four years ago I never believed I would be strolling, playing and singing again. The story goes complete paralysis, 30 days in darkness, eyes shut tight, 74 days in rehabilitation, 9 months in a wheel chair, several more months with a walker and several more months with a cane. Today with a lot of work and effort I have put all those handicapped tools behind me..I'm booking and playing gigs again, something I thought I would never do again. My music, entertaining, the accordion the XD3 and making people happy was the driving force. Praise the Lord...The wireless set up has saved me a lot of steps...Placing the medical problem aside, even as we get older we need to preserve our strength. Any way I'm doing it again and with a lot of flexibility, quality of sounds (theXD3) and almost as much strength as I had before.
Limex PRO II and Ketron XD3
1. I can not send the system exclusive message for Intro and Endings with the Pro ii , but this Borsini accordion with the pro ii is lighter than the other accordions I own, which makes it easier for me to walk back and forth from the wonderful sounds of the XD#3 module and foot pedal. I use the spread sheet information on 3/5 cards to identify the 201 styles to eliminate any delay of having to search around for styles.....I have eight 3 x 5 cards. On one side alphabetically and the other side numerically. I'll paste (in case you cannot open the spread sheet) the list herewith and send the attachment of Microsoft Spread Sheet of the list. One can easily sort from Alphabetically to Numerically using the spread sheet.
Sort by H to get Alphabetical List.
Sort by D to get Numerical List.
You can also identify 99 styles with the Pro ii reader. One would have to program the Limex Pro ii manually to call up 99 of the 201 styles on the XD3.
Limex PRO III and Ketron XD3
2. You can also identify 198 styles with the Pro iii reader ,however, with the Pro iii, I can send this hexadecimal number, * F0 26 7C 1F 7F F7 F0 26 7C 1F 00 F7 (system exclusive message) to wirelessly control the XD3, thus controlling style call up with Intro/Ending information from where ever I'm on the floor. (198 styles wireless with intros and endings and the remaining 3 styles at the XD3 Pattern section)
I use the computer and the Limex 3.1.0 to program the 198 styles with Intros and Endings for the XD3. Much simpler than doing it manually as with the Pro ii.
* Note, only the forth hexadecimal number and the tenth hexadecimal number of the 12 hexadecimal numbers changes depending on what is call up. In this case the 1F = Intro and Ending (see the manual of the XD3)
:You can download the Excel Spread sheet of these setting HERE
You can download the pdf of these settings HERE
You can download the 208 Registrations HERE
If you have any trouble downloading, go to http://www.ketronus.com/KNAT/knat2-7.php and you should be able to download ok from there.
Below is a picture version of the spreadsheet. Fred is more than willing to help any other accordionists that wish to adapt to his system.
Here is some additional information that came in just as I was finishing this. JS
The XD3 is still far ahead of its time I'm discovering. This may be some interesting information to pass on to the accordion players. An accordion player is able to send data wireless from the Limex accordion to the XD3. A wireless accordion player can call up 198 styles from the floor with intros and endings using the System Exclusive Message ( sysex) for the XD3;
F0 26 7C 1F 7F F7 F0 26 7C 1F 00 F7. (12 hexadecimal numbers)...string
I like this particular message for the XD3 because it gives me Intro/Ending 3 on all the styles with the push of one yellow button. There are 7 options in the -function start/stop - key, on the Limex PRO III: Start, Intro, Fillin 1. Fillin 2, Fillin 3, Ending, and stop. I put the same message in all seven slots. The only number that changes in the sysex 12 number message number is the 1F, 4th number, and the 1F,10th number (seeXD3Manual for sysex numbers)
The key trick is to send MSB (0) with program change 1 through 99 for the first 99 styles and MSB (1) with program changes of 1 through 99 for the second 99 styles,( 99+99=198). One must be sure to send all this information on Channel

An interesting and important function of the XD3 for those of the accordion players who wish to play the accordion as the music is written. (for example from bass to chord), In other words one does not have to press a chord first and then a bass button second. AJ helped me with this : Fingered on page #38 of the manual and play the accordion just the way the music is written.
I'm so excited about this I probably have forgotten something, so do not hesitate to ask me if there seems to be a void anywhere.
I can call up 198 styles wireless with intros and endings. and I can get the remaining 3 styles from the PATTERNS.
One can not print this invisible Registration but it is in there. So I pressed REGistrations Button and began punching the numbers in the style section....1-198 and the remaining 3...... I called up from the Patterns..
